How Our Rugs Are Made
Select and Dye the Wool: It all starts with selecting high-quality wool and dying it using natural, plant based dyes. With a custom rug, you can choose from over 1,000 colors to create the perfect palette or perfectly match an existing space.
Create the Design: Whether you want to create the design yourself or let us do it for you, the options to customize your rug are endless.
Knot the Rug: Skilled artisans then bring your rug to life, one knot at a time. Every rug has 25 knots per square inch, making this a true labor of love taking weeks to create. In addition to knotting, the creation process also includes weaving the pile, and shearing the rug in order to maintain the design's integrity.
Wash and Finish: The completed rug is washed to remove any excess dye and dirt. It is then stretched and hung to dry naturally. After drying, the rug undergoes finishing processes, which may include brushing, combing, and carving to enhance its texture and appearance.
